Alliance Urges Congress to Repeal Burdensome 1099 Paperwork Requirement

On February 15, the Alliance joined with a coalition of 161 associations that signed a letter urging Congress to take immediate action to repeal the expensive and burdensome new tax paperwork requirement included in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). In a June 2010 survey, Alliance Action Team Members indicated that complying with this new reporting requirement would dramatically increase the time and money spent on issuing and tracking Form 1099s. The Alliance will continue to advocate on behalf of members for repeal of this new administrative encumbrance faced by small-businesses and the self-employed.
