The Alliance Annual Meeting was held in Irving, Texas last Friday and former Dallas Cowboy Darren Woodson was a guest speaker. Woodson spoke about the importance of 1) having a strong work ethic and being consistent in the pursuit of a goal, 2) not being afraid of failure because of what is learned through experience, and 3) believing in yourself and maintaining confidence. These keys to success were contributing factors to Woodson becoming a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Dallas Cowboys and his message resonated with the Alliance Members in attendance, delivering principles to apply in their own lives.

During the meeting, Alliance scholarship winners Courtney Brown and Kaavya Balan were recognized. Darren Woodson commented, “It is great to see an organization like Alliance for Affordable Services providing financial assistance through a scholarship program based on academic merit. We need to stop enabling kids and do more to show them the way to reach their goals through their own efforts.”
